When the display is disconnected, the issue goes away almost immediately.The weird thing is the laptop is really cold to the touch, and the temperature sensors of the CPU and GPU are all in the very acceptable 40 to 60 degrees celcius range. Both when connected via HDMI as DVI as VGA.
I tried 4 displays, and 4 different dongles, all seem to have the issue.

I clean install macbook pro with big sur, imac with monterey public release beta. I have tried many method that I read on internet (use fans control app, turbo boost, command line instruction, tweak browser configuration and many more) not work, change macbook thermal paste not working too. thermal level under 60 degree celcius with external monitor, cpu temp around 55-60 degree celcius.

Whenever i put it under load, for example video editing, photo editing, the CPU throttles down to 0.8ghz which makes it unusable for such work.įirst the CPU heats up to around 99° and then starts to throttle, which is normal.
